Well, everything is new so I don't know where the problem is. Just moved to a new house in Denver, got a new car - Suzuki 4WD, got a new laptop - Lenovo Thinkpad R61, using Vista - which I think I hate but will try to get used to it, and went to the the new version 3.9 something and had lots of problems but went back to 3.8 and everything seems to be OK except for error messages that I can live with but would like to get rid of.

I rip the DVD to the HD, no problems but when I go to transcode I get the message "Access is Denied" after hitting "OK" a few times I get the message "Could not open Device" after hitting "OK" again twice everything seems to go OK.

Also, I went to Best Buy for some disks and got a 50 pack of Verbatim -R for $31 and a 50 pack of Dynex-R for $8. I had some coasters with the Verbatims but am getting great copies with the Dynex. The coasters I got with the expensive disks was with the new 3.9 - whatever happened the disks crash the system whenever I try to access them - happens on another computer as well. I'm sticking to the good-but-cheap disks for now.

Thank you Dinkie - problem solved.

I guess it's easy when you know it but it sure isn't something I could have figured out.

Happy New Year!!!
