Can anyone help? Some time ago my Dad had many old 8mm cine films of various lengths that he managed to get tranfered onto a single VHS tape. This over time has become old hat and also I feel deteriorated to some dgree. I want to try and get this into my computer and then re-edit, tweak and fiddle so that I can hopefully create my own DVD of these old films in a better order and better titles. A friend of mine recently managed to tranfer the material from this VHS tape onto two DVDs for me by way of his DVD/VHS recording machine. I in turn have then managed to transfer these two DVDs onto my computer into My Documents. The material seems to have turned into six files in My Documents PD101, PD102, PD103, one labeled "Unknown File" and two labeled "Pinnacle Disc Image" Now if I try to simply watch these files in their raw format simply by clicking onto them, I can in their entirety. However, if I try to drag or send them in to a program like Sony Video Studio for example, so that I can re-edit and add my own titles etc. everything seems to go a bit strange and defragments into a completely unusable format, which is why I have purchased this "Convert X to DVD" software in the hope of being able to sort this out and do what I want to do with this material. I am not the most computer literate person in the world, hence my questions here... Any help and advice with this problem would be very much appreciated indeed... Many many thanks... Pete. Smile

I have idea that you need a video editor and connet the seperate part together and then it will be OK for you to use and if you want to copy the files to dvd may be an dvd creator would be OK , I recommend you use some well ones such as xilisoft video editor and dvd creator or nero and so on
