Just downloaded newest version from Dimadsoft (DvdReMake Pro 3.6.2).

I have a training DVD I authored 4 years ago in DVD Studio Pro. It's 2-1/2hrs long.

I want to change the main menu.

Copied the DVD contents to my hard drive. Imported it into DvdReMake Pro.
I tried this two times, first using the VIDEO_TS folder as my import target, and then by navigating into the VIDEO_TS folder and using the contents as my import target. Both methods seemed to work fine.

Followed your guides to change the menu by creating a dummy DVD. Worked fine and plays fine in WinDVD.

When I go to burn the project to a DVD+R, there is no VIDEO_TS.VOB in my exported project.

Any suggestions? The disc created without the VIDEO_TS.VOB file seems to work OK in a standalone player, but I don't trust it if it's missing the file.

thanks - - -

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Is there any real content in VIDEO_TS.VOB? Since the output plays fine, you're ok. The VOB file is probably unreferenced, thus it is removed upon export.

Thanks,
I did a web search and found that VIDEO_TS.VOB is the "first play" video. This particular DVD has no first play video. I actually looked at the VIDEO_TS.VOB from the original disk and saw that it was a single frame of black, so I just dragged it to the new VIDEO_TS folder (along with the *.IFO and *BUP files and it burned with no error messages. I'll test it in a couple of different DVD players before I start duplicating.

Thanks for your response. It was reassuring.

This is not the right way to do it. You must get new VTS sectors if you're going to drag files into DvdReMake output folder. However, in this case, the VIDEO_TS.VOB is not there for a reason (the black frame is not played and not referenced), so trust DvdReMake output and burn away.

Thanks again for the advice.

Should I remove the VIDEO_TS.VOB and burn without it, or are you saying that IN THIS INSTANCE it doesn't matter?
