Hi Guys!
I got to the point where I was ready to burn my DVDRemake merged 2-disc DVD compilation. The disc plays fine on my computer using CyberLink's PowerDVD. I get the normal brown cloudscape Main Menu and can select the first movie or the second movie exactly as normal.
But, when I burned the merged DVD compilation to a DVD+RW, so as to test it before I burn it to a DVD+R, the Main Menu does not come up. All I get is a black screen. On one of my standalone DVD players, only the yellow highlight selection cursor that appears over each arrow-in-circle button is seen on the TV screen. On another of my standalone DVD players, nothing at all appears on the Main Menu screen -- a totally black screen!
Any ideas what the problem may be?

| I see this happen before on one of my standalones but it is already fixed in later versions. PowerDVD is very lenient on menu highlights, not so in Showtime and Windvd. Try the demo of the latest version and test on the RW. |

Will I be able to fully export a 2-disc merged DVD compilation with that latest DVDRemake demo version, toaddub? If not, I'm stuck.

Do you happen to know the details regarding this bug that causes this problem, toaddub? Just a little curious about it. |

Unfortunately, the demo exports only up to 15 seconds of each block, and does not support test export and multi-angle DVD.
The problem was in the VOB itself. Give the demo a try. The DvdReMake menu should be fully exported since it's a still menu. Test it on RW, if it works, then it's the version you're using.
Just to make sure, the only thing you did with menu replacement is using 'Replace with still', correct? |

Yes, I did the "Replace with still" procedure outlined in this Guide:
http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/ht_customize_menu_background.php
I tried the demo and burned the compilation to the DVD+RW and the menu did appear on the TV screen, so it was just as you said, this is a bug that existed in the older versions of DVDRemake. I'll just have to get the latest version if I want the "merge two discs" feature to work for me. As always, thanks again, toaddub. I appreciate all your help. |
