Firmware Update Problem

I receintly had to do a system restore on my Sony VAIO VGC-RA820G and now my
DVD-RW is not functioning properly. ALL of my DVD burning applications that the system
came with fail before completion.

I have read many issues regarding this and some pointed toward updating the drivers or firmware to
correct issues due to MS Updates..

So I found a link to an update the firmware for this drive, but when I run the install, I receive this

The error message is stating that the firmware is for this drive, but that it cannot be found
on my system, yet when it lists the drives that are on my system, the correct one is listed?

Any ideas?


I can capture video to my HD and the burning process gets to about 99%, but then fails
with an error from Click to DVD Error ID:01

I have done googles on this and there really is nothing out there regarding this error id and
Click to DVD... Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creator will not complete burns either, so I suspect this
is an issue with the Burner or the drivers for the burner. I have even tried reinstalling CLick
to DVD.

Thanks for any help or ideas that can be offered. I am pretty proficient
with systems, but burning DVD seems to be just a headache to me and
very frustrating.

Can anyone save me? )
