I wish to completely erase CD-RW disks to make them usable in Symantec's Ghost Program, if the CD-RW have been used Ghost will not write to them. I have Nero 6 neither the EXTRAS>ERASE function nor the erase disk function in NERO burning Rom work. I hope there is a third party utility that will completely erase the disk, any help appreciated. What CDRW brand are you trying to erase? It may be that cdrw is no longer eraseable although you could try CopyToDVDs erase function, DVDinfo pros erase function or burnatonce erase fuction to name just a few software that wil have the erase function. CopyToDVD www.vso-software.fr DVDInfoPro www.dvdinfopro.com burnatonce www.burnatonce.com

Try Alcohol 120%....If Alcohol 120% can't erase it with the option "ignore illegal Toc" enabled,it's time to throw the rewritable away....Wink

Have you also tried to update your firmware of your writer because for some media you sometimes need to update the firmware to have better support for that type of media......... Check for the last firmware: http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php

The firmware is current, the disks work with PowerQuest's Drive Image (Now Symantec) they work with Acronis True Image but will not work with Ghost version 2003. Symantec's web site states that the disks must be erased (and to use an erase utility) to be reused. The only utility I know of is within Nero 6. What I was looking for was a simply little program that would achieve the task. I want to use CD-RW disks for the simply reason that I used 18 CD-R disks and the backup aborted. A$10.00 worth of coasters. Thanks for the replies
