Hi, I've got a problem with dvd+rw disks that were used on a Goodmans DVD+/-R/W CD-R/RW (no hdd) and a load of other formats home setup...(cant remember the mod)
My problem is with any PC software that I try to erase/re-format the disks with.. Nero 7, Magic Burning Studio etc! It just error messages' it with "ilegal disk" or "disk not recognised" and "please insert a compatable disk" ans so-on..
Does anyone out there have an answer to this?.
I've got something like 100+ dvd+rw's sitting here un-useable.. They do play on my PC and I can read all the data.. There's even some that I used on my PC and copied data files to them, I cant erase/format them either..
Cheers to anyone who's got an answer |

Hi,
This may sound silly, but are you able to burn the dvd+rw disks. lf not then you wont be able to erase them, l think.
Perhaps you need dvd-rw disks |

i had the same problem before and was getting very annoyed that what should i do with these stacks of dvd+rw. tried every program and in the nd i read somewhere to use Imagetoolburn
http://www.coujo.de/ib2/index.php?act=module&module=include&incl_name=download
its absolutely amazing small program, i usually use Quick erase option and when done erasing (takes few seconds) eject dvd and then close tray and burn what ever on it. for burning files on it i usually use Nero burning rom on the lowest speed, dont go for max. in case dvd doesnt get erased by quick erase option, do full format (takes more time).
i hope it helps |
