I am trying to delete particular chapters from a movie before exporting 2 merged movies. My questions are 1) how do I correctly delete chapters without causing (red highlighted) errors. and 2) Is there a way to rearrange the order of the remaining chapters that would be playing consecutively as normal.
Moderator Toaddub has been very helpful so far. I though I would start a new threat pertaining specifically to this topic. In Screen 01, is where I would delete the Title Reference to the program. So far, so good.
SCREEN 01
In Screen 02, I am deleting the actual video content associated with the Title Reference.
SCREEN 02
As you can see, that deletion immediately creates a red highlighted error in the 'Titles" and "Video Title Set"
SCREEN 03
How can I avoid this? Is it better to delete chapters, before or after merging two movies? |

For Deleting the Title References, I started to use "Delete Titles with PGCs" instead of hitting the Delete Key. That seems to have eliminated the red highlights on the Video Titles Set, but caused one on the "Video Manager" and the "VMG Titles" instead. I am getting closer, what would be my next move?
Now I understand that the Chapters will play in the order they were originally set it. However, that "FBI Warning" that is usually set to First Play, at completion is not connecting to the main menu. I believe that perhaps it is looking for a in-between Chapter that I deleted. How can I force that FBI warning chapter to lead into the main video menu? |

Hi
I think you are trying too many thinks at once.
At the beginning do not delete anything just use hide. This way no commands are deleted and navigation will remain.
You can do what you want, but you will have to change Post command in warning to navigate to your next stage. In your case most likely to go back to WMG Pgc which points to where you want to go.
You can use your original and check commands where they go.
You do not see red text because you deleted something which ended play at that point, as you can see you get to the warning and play stop there. |

I assume VTS2 is the FBI warning. As you can see, there's only 1 chapter and 1 program. It is not recommended to delete them if you don't intend to substitute it with another video content. A VTS must have at least one program to be valid. As Senior said, it is better to just hide it to not see the warning so navigation will stay intact.

"Delete Title with PGCs" will delete both title and associated PGCs. Since VMG Title is referencing a Title Set and Title, which no longer exists, it is highlighted in red. Normally, in such case, might as well delete the whole VTS and associated VMG Title and redirect the navigation flow where necessary. But this is advance stuff, knowledge of VM commands are required.
So for now, it is recommended to just use Hide until you're more comfortable doing some advanced editing. |

Well I must say, I've almost solved the problem. I guess the words I was using could have been misleading. When I said I wanted to "DELETE" chapters, I really just meant I wanted them GONE! What I discovered was that all I needed to do was right-click the VTS and select "Hide All Blocks". That pretty much removed the content from the disc, and eliminated the possibility of linking to a chapter.
Anyhow, one final issue that just arouse. When I substitute the default menu with a custom one I designed, BOTH buttons on the menu are linking to the 2nd movie. I've already set the 'Edit Button Command' for both buttons to "LinkTailPGC", yet they are both linking to the same 2nd movie's menu. Is there something that I am overlooking to designate a movie to a particular button? |

| That should work though. Run the debugger to see how it navigates. Also, could you post a screenshot of the menu, showing the Preview window, Buttons pane, and Post Commands pane. |
