I notice that in the new version there's an option to reduce the priority of the program when converting. I assume that this means that the program doesn't hog up all the CPU Resources and allows you to do something else with your computer whilst it's converting/burning a dvd.
One thing I was curious about - I've been a bit superstitious and have thought that if I used my computer for anything else while converting/burning DVD's, I might get that audio skipping/poorer quality DVD's, and so have ended up not using my PC at all when trying to make a DVD.
If I use this "lower priority" option, and use the PC for other things like checking email, web browsing, will I risk problems with the DVD? (I hate having to reburn them and ruining a blank DVD)? Anyone else have any experience with this?
Thanks in advance... |

| I've never seen any quality drop. I almost exclusively use ConvertX in Idle mode. Only way you'll know for sure is to give it a test run. Do a file in your normal mode while you stay way from the computer and then do the same file in Idle or Low mode and do all your regular computing at the same time. It's obviously going to take longer to process the latter but I don't think you'll see any differences in quality. Heck, I'm almost willing to wager that it will come out with the exact same bit count in the end. |
