| I have downloaded the User Manual but there is a bad link to the website. If the link worked for me then it would also be great to have the manual linked from VideoReMake Pro's "Help" menu. |

I refer to the user manual itself. When I open the file, the left hand pane shows the tabbed "contents, index. search and favorites" view, but on the right side of the pane I get the information icon which reads:
"This program cannot display the webpage"

| Try redownloading the file. Some browsers require that you first select "open file from current location" in download dialog and select "save this file to disk" on second prompt. |

What you're seeing is normal. I will see your posted error message only if I click on Options button -> Home. You will also notice there's no Home button icon either. This is because it is not defined. The Home icon is actually intended to reference the default topic, which is often the first topic ("Welcome to DvdReMake Pro 3") in the Contents tab.
The HTML Help Component Version I have in my system is v4.74.8702.0 (HHA.DLL). You can access the version info in the left top corner of CHM window (Question mark icon). This is part of XP system.
If you look at some other CHM file from different programs, you will see the error message if there's no Home defined. |

Sorry about the lag. Welcome Toaddub I think this is closer to my problem but I don"t quite understand your phrasing.
"I will see your posted error message only if I click on Options button -> Home". (You will see my posted error message only if I click on Options button -> Home"?
Here's what I may understand:
Current URL is:
mk:@MSITStore:C:\Program%20Files\DVD%20ReMakePro\Manual\DvdReMakePro3.chm::/welcome_to_dvdremake_pro_3.htm
HTML Help version:
5.2.3790.2847
Within the Help menu "Options, Home" I get the Info screen mentioned previous post.

The hint is if you don't see a Home button, which is usually to the left of Print button, you will get the standard IE error message that you posted when you select Options -> Home.
Some CHM file has Home defined, some do not. Basically, what you're seeing is normal. Hope you understand now. |

| In this case I obviously don't get the hint. How do I define "Home" to view the manual? |

| OK, I found how to view the help file by unchecking the always allow, don't ask to open checkbox. Thanks for the help. I can now become a power user! Case closed. |
