My Dvd+Rw ... stopped working. I get an I/O error code. My laptop has also stopped recognizing that it even exists. I have updated, rolled back, uninstalled, reinstalled drivers. I have also reformatted. My syatem restore files are on my hard drive. Nothing is working. Please help me.
Ran a filter thing. not sure if the results will help, but here they are:
The Upper Filters are:
No Upper Filters found.
The Lower Filters are:
PxHelp20
Thanks in advance.

Hi Karen and welcome to our forums
It seems to me that removing the PxHelp20 filter is the way to go here ( or at least updating to a known better version ). A quick search on this forum should pull up loads of issues with this writer and certain versions of pxhelp. Programs installed during a reinstall od certain oem discs will install this driver with help with burning. A newer version has been known to fix certain issues but removing it altogether does seem to help a lot. Once unistalled though, certain reliant software may not work.
http://www.firestreamer.com/fs/troubleshoot-noaccess.asp
provides a good walkthrough on how to remove your Lower filters ( i would follow the guide and remove ALL lower filters just to rule them out )
If the drives works now after removal and reboot we have foundyour issue. To update your version of Pxhelp you wil need to install a program with an updated version - the latest trial version of 1clickdvdcopy does just that i believe. Let us nkow how u get on! |

| Hello, removing this made my E:drive disappear completely. I bought myself an external dvd drive. Added bonus: it includes 8.5 gb of storage. |

Removing the faulty filter without removing any related services, results in a possible loss of drives. But this works out great too |
