| On a couple of occasions when burning, the laser has left scorch marks on the DVD-R (several small round dots). Does anyone know if this a serious problem from faulty hardware or just a case of my drive having trouble burning a DVD? If anyone can give advice I'd be very grateful. |

Hi Tug
What burner/media combination are you using? Some cheaper media can have design flaws which results in these blotches. I have also seen it happen when overspeeding media on B grade media. |

HI SirQUK,
I'm using a NEC DVD+-RW ND-6650A. The software I'm using is DVD Cloner 3 and the discs I'm using are Tuffdiscs. I'm reading and burning at the lowest speed possible.
If there were scratches/dirt on the original discs - could this be a problem?
Many thanks. |
