Hi, and thank you for this forum. i just bought my first DVD burner, a Pioneer 111d (34.00 total), and it burned 3 Maxell DVD+r's fine (at least they work in my PC's), but i would like to know if i should flash it up to version 1.29 from 1.23 which is what it is now. And can i do it from within windows.

I am running W/98se, 650mhz, 320 ram (w/ 70 wire cables 4.71.2) and it took about 25 minute to burn a 4.7gb video. Also, CD-driveinfo22.exe says that the region is not set, what may that effect?

Many more questions, but thank you any help on this.

hi Daniel

I would recomend updating to 1.29 only if you experience issues with the media you use. Like you said, the fw you have works fine for you. While newer firmwares can bring enhanced support for newer media, if it aint broke dont fix it Smile

Could you comment on the drive having no regions set? I right clicked on it in Device Manager, but W.98 offers me no way to set it. Thanks
