|
|
| I find a DVD that makes use of LinkGoUpPGC in the Set Instructions set. The command is R[0]=R[1], LinkGoUpPGC (highlight button 4). The GoUpPGC=1 is defined in Extras. But DvdReMake gives a pop up message that this command is invalid or not allowed in the menu domain. I checked in PgcEdit and such command is valid. Playing in software players and standalone poses no problem. In the Set Instructions category, I find that LinkNextPGC, LinkPrevPGC, and LinkGoUpPGC are missing. Also, shouldn't the Link Sub-Instruction set include these missing link set as well?

| Can you send an IFO file with the command? Where the command is located?

I just hit this issue in 3.6.1. I can send you the IFO if you need it, it's from The U.S. vs. John Lennon R1. 3.5.3 did not have this limitation:

| Filesize: |
60.78 KB |

1674 Time(s) |

| P.S. Under Program Chain PGCs the LinkNextPGC, LinkPrevPGC, and LinkGoUpPGC commands appear in 3.5.3 and are missing from 3.6 as well. 353 gives the same long list as above plus those three. 3.6 gives the same short list plus Link Chapter.

@Dimad, I don't remember which DVD makes use of LinkGoUpPGC, but in my search, I find THIS and in dvd-replica. According to the spec, the LinkSIns commands are valid only in the button and cell command areas. So what's still missing are LinkNextPGC, LinkPrevPGC, and LinkGoUpPGC.
@MrMoody,
The DVD you have is authored incorrectly. LinkTailPGC is illegal in the Pre Commands. It is valid only in cell or button commands. That's why it's removed in 3.6. If you import this DVD into PgcEdit, it will flag it as well.
The list in Link Instructions category in 3.6 are the same as PgcEdit's in the Pre Commands. So it's OK.

Ah, thanks. Reading the spec on dvd-replica I see you are right. It seems like it would be handy to able to skip from the pre to the post commands, but hey if the DVD Forum says it ain't supported, it ain't supported ...
On the other hand I don't see where LinkNextPGC etc aren't allowed in VTSM cell and button commands, but they have never appeared there in DRMP although you CAN set the values for NextPGC etc. Admittedly I don't see a lot of use in chaining menu PGCs anyway ...
