Memorex, a manufacturer of DVD recordable discs, has openly admitted that DVD recordable discs are far more sensitive to humidity than CD-R discs in environmental tests, in its whitepaper on lifetime expectations on optical discs, dated March 2006. cheers for this information franklin. As many have suspected DVD is far less likely to survive everyday use than DVD. But if you buy Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim - these do seem to stand the test of time very well. Sorry for the late reply!
