| Hi - hoping for some advice here. I'm using a Toshiba DVD player/recorder with hard drive. Blank media I'm using is MrDVD, a budget brand! Format DVD-R 8x speed. I've been trying to transfer 'videos' from hard disk to DVD. Everything seems to record OK and plays back on the first attempt. Next time I try it though the DVD won't play and the player reports an error. I've tried the disk in another DVD player I have and again they'll play once and then not load. The DVD's won't play at all on the computer. On one occasion I got the disk to play 3 or 4 times - and then it failed. In fact one disk has just locked up the player! Is this as simple as dodgy media or something more serious? Incidently the couple of TDK-RW discs I've used work fine as do prerecorded DVDs Thanks for your advice |

| Such recorders are designed mainly for RW media and so support for budget brands of write once is not always optimised. that said I dont rate Mr DVD at all and the fact TDK quality media works tells me that you are right to suspect dodgy media. |
