| I am a professional photographer and for as long as I have been putting images on CD's to archive them, I have been using media with a gold layer. I initially used the Kodak Gold CD-Rs which were expensive, but excellent. When Kodak decided to stop making them, I switched to Harmony Pure Gold, however, it looks like they might have gone out of business as their site is no longer available and I can't find them anywhere. Does anyone have a suggested replacement? Thanks. Their site was www.harmonydisc.com |

Hi Bossm4n and welcome to our forums yes those kodak golds where very good. I remember the old traxdata golds too. I find that today colour doesn't really make a difference and picking a good brand with known consistency to be the answer. With that in mind and depending where you live, Miflop, Plextor or Verbatim are good choices for reliable backup. Of course their are others but these brands I know work well batch after batch. But generally most branded CDR is good so Sony, TDK, Traxdata CDR should be fine too |
