Bill, All DVDFab is doing is replacing bad data (video) it encountered on the dvd with blank data leaving you blank spots in your movie. Nero 7 or Shrink either one will not have a problem processing this. Ages back I bought Nero 5 and then upgraded to Nero 6 and had nothing but problems with trying to burn a disk. I don't even use Nero anymore. What I do now is I convert my VIDEO_TS files to an ISO file and burn with ImgBurn (freeware) by LUK who is the author of DVD Decrypter. He took his burn engine from decrypter and has updated. This is the only program he deals with anymore. He is no longer in the ripping business. The program I use for converting to an ISO is Img Tool Classic and can be downloaded here and ImgBurn v1.3.0.0 can be downloaded here. WarDog

I understand what you are saying, but I did watch the movies. It didn't have any blank spots. I am not saying that DVDFab doesn't do what you are saying. I haven't used it long enough to say. I can just say that it hasn't done it yet. I put the link up, because it worked me. As far as Nero 7 Ultra. I haven't had any problems, but don't like it that much. Plus I didn't pay the $89 they wanted for it. I just download the free trial and replaced the temp code to keep it. I had someone tell me nero was bad. The guy is a genius, when it comes to computers. Thanks for the links you provided. I will try them out, but I like things that are simple. If there is simple software that works. I try to get it. What version of DVDFab did you try and how long ago was it? I only ask, because there are a few I saw. I tried the one and it didn't work on The Grudge. It stopped for a while and I figured it ran into a glitch. So I went I downloaded the free version. That version did work on hostel and The Grudge. Neither DVD Decrypter or shrink could copy it. Also, thanks for one other thing. I downloaded that PgcEdit Pluggin. It told me I needed a newer version of Decrypter. So I went and got it. I wouldn't have known the version if it didn't tell me. I don't recall what version(s) I tried. It has been ages ago, but from what I have been told the newer version still handles bad data the same way by replacing it with blank data. I am glad to see the author has finally gotten around to keeping up with the latest protections. If he would just correct that bad data replacement with blank data routine he would have a pretty good program.

I couldn't get When a Stranger Calls to copy either using my old version of DVDFab Decrypter. Then I updated it to version 2.9.7.9 and it worked just fine. I personally don't care "how" it works as long as it "does" work. New version worked like a charm.

Yeah that is what I thought. The newest version was updated on May 25 th, I think. So they might have worked out the kinks now. It has copied 3 Sony DVD's for me. Hostel, The Grudge and When a Starnger Calls. I just got that DVD today and it ripped it. So I will keep using it as well. I did try using PSL2 Pluggin with DVD Decrypter and it didn't work for me. It said to check my burner. My burner was fine though. Maybe I just don't know how to use it. I will stick with DVDFab Decrypter. I will try that burner sotware wardog mentioned though. I don't like Nero to much. Bill
