A most recomended link Mr_Fixer. The number 1 firmware resource ever created and home to a few firmware modification discussions. We hope to have something similar very soon though! Watch this space Smile

I think members will find it useful and for those that do not know what there current firmware version is and they have DVD Decrypter 3.5.3.0 installed you can click on Tools>Drive>Check for firmware updates and the program will tell you. Cheers Smile

Yup, another good feature of the ever improving DVDDecrypter.

yeah, my favorite site. I upgraded my old LiteOn burner by rewriting the EEPROM, and now it reads faster, burns faster and better with a change in write strategy, and the quality of burn is better than when I burned b4 the upgrade. Of course, doing this will void warranty but who cares, it already pasts one year. Smile btw, do you ever wonder why, e.g., 4x dvd-r is burning at 2x? That's b/c the media code does not exist in the firmware, but with a change in write strategy, you won't have that problem. Check out MediaCodeSpeedEdit. Works on specified burners. Seems a lot of changes to decrypter. Some pple are reporting problems, so keep the old version just in case.

Hey toaddub, that was some interesting stuff on the MediaCodeSpeed. I have a Lite-On 1213S which read/write pretty fast now. I will give it some thought and might give mine a shot. I have rip 8-10 DVD's with 3.5.3.0 so far without any problems, but I have been on DVDD forum and read some of the problems also. Pretty well all of it has been resolved as cockpit error and not the program so far, but L.UK has made some major changes and there probably will be a error or two pop up. So I agree with you, don't discard 3.5.2.0 completely yet! Cheers

Thanks, rubicat. Forgot to mention OmniPatcher in my post. I used both. Just note that on certain LiteOn burner, you can upgrade dual burner to double layer burner. It beats buying a new one.

The main difference if very hard to find but as far as i know the V version is a slightly different chipset ( but not confirmed ) Finding firmware is hard as it isnt shown on the Litoen firmware page. I would wait a couple of weeks to see if anything comes on the Liteon site. Are you jhaveing any issues with this fw u are using?
