latest firmware for HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GCA 4080N

could anyone point me in the right direction of the latest firmwar or if i indeed have it already, i didn't turn up too many results for 4080N Thanks current firmware is i believe 0H38, and driver version is dated microsoft 01/07/2001 5.1.2535.0

Hi there, The 4080N seems to be a Laptop Burner. This is an OEM drive. Is it in an Nec Laptop ? What model & Brand of Laptop ? OEM Firmware will only be found on the OEM Laptop Company Site... Latest firmware I found until now is 0H37 and you have 0H38 so maybe you do have the latest on there already !

aah man, you've answered 3 of my questions in 1 daym and this one was posted so long ago, you are correct in that of it being a laptop burner . Acer Aspire 3003lmi. no need to search a bew firmware then, Thanks

one Notebook Fujitsu Siemens AMILO PRO v 2020

When I was burning one DVD, it showed a message "cannot perfomed action" and from them , the CD/DVD : LG HL-DT-ST GSA-4080N

cannot read/record any DVD but yes a CD. If I insert any DVD it shows no info inside and dont recognize, even a boot DVD .

I desinstall/reinstall it but the situtation is the same (shows just a CD ROM)

What shall I do? My firmware is 033 now , cannot find newwst .
Help is appreciated!
