I am trying to back-up my volume of "Charlie" but fail with DVDShrink and DVDDecrypter. Does not seem to be a SONY or ARccOS protected disc. I returned the disc to my dealer and tried a second disc. Again I was unable to make a back-up. Unlikely the problem is disc damage. Please find my DVDDecrypter logfile and zipped IFOs attached. Cheers

Well I don't know who your dealer is, but he is selling you bad backup's copies. I 12:09:35 Source Media Region Code: 1; 2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 7; 8 I 12:09:35 Source Media Copyright Protection System Type: None I 12:09:35 Source Media Implementation Identifier: AHEAD Nero This disk is completly region free, NO CSS protection and it was burned with NERO. You have no ARccOS or any other protection on this disk. This disk is probably of crappy (sh!t) media and that's why your NEC drive can't read it. I would demand a refund or a original DVD. Also your drive firmware is not current and this can also cause problems when reading or writing to some media. Your firmware should 1.03 and you can find it HERE.

This is very strange to me. My dealer is a Video Store - I buy Ex Rentals from him and I have had no bad experiences so far. Perhaps he has been conned. The disc seems to be professional and genuine. Could it be the logfile is wrong? No other suggestions to ski the errors and backup this disc?

No your log file is not wrong. The disk used is DVD-ROM but Warner Brothers doesn't use NERO as a application to burn with or would they release there movie without copy protection. You can try and clean this disk really good and update your firmware to 1.03 These are the only two things you can do other than get a refund and buy from someone else.
@mazinho Your movie VOB's start's at VTS_02_1 and you starting getting read errors from VTS_02_2 through out the rest of the DVD. Simply dirty, scratched or bad media.
