| I love Dvdremake Pro, but since the 3.XX versions the programs often behaves VERY UNSTABLE !. I tested on two of my computers one running a AMD ATHLON XP 3000+ and one running a SEMPRON 3000. Both have 1 GB memory and lot's of HD-space. The mainboard I use is an ASUS A7N8X-DELUXE. The trouble is not importing and editing as far as I use it (i'm not a real low-level DVD-expert at all). But the trouble is EXPORTING an edited DVD. Most og the time a windows APPLICATION ERROR occurs and the programm is terminated and all youre work is lost. If I start it a second time, do only the edits and nothing more, most of the time it works the second time. DVDREMAKE PRO often crashes when exporting the DVD. The versions before 3, were much more stable. Because of the fact I tried it on two different AMD compuetrs having the same mainboard, I think it's not a hardware related problem. All other software like DVD-RB and CCE work perfectly (CCE is extremely sensitive and only runs on 100% stable systems!). So most of the time when I do some wotk, it makes DVDREMAKE PRO crashes when exporting the disk. If you repeat the editing procedure a second time , not doing any looking or unneeded actions (viewing, playing back a cell) then it goes ok most of the time. Anybody knows this behaviour of DVDremake pro ? Thanx. |

| v3 uses different GUI and video overlays from v2. What kind of editing were you doing? Please be more specific. Maybe it will help tracking it down. What OS and are on your 2 PCs? There's one thing you can also try to reduce crashing, run the program as one of the three compatibility modes: Win 98, Win NT, and Win 2000. Speed improvement may be noticeable. |

| I usually do pretty heavy editing with a lot of previewing but have not noticed any problem like this on my system (XP Pro with Athlon 1600 and MSI board). Exporting test or full DVD always worked fine. I wouldn't necessarily blame it on hardware, you could have an incompatibility between DRM and some other software. |

Hi mate, I have found DVD Remake Pro v3.xx to be a bit unstable but it is quite easy to work round this!! Hell who cares when it is so much more powerful than DVD Remake 1) Don't install SP2 - stick with SP1a (I had some unpleasant experiences with SP2 ) 2) Save your project every so often (then you can quickly recover your editing back to where you goto) and always before exporting a DVD 3) Harddisk S.M.A.R.T. monitoring software and other background I/O (disk defraging) on the same HD as DVD Remake Pro can cause problems... Hope this info. helps... Bob Wya |
