|
|
| Hi everybody. New version 3.1.3 pro - after merging 2 dvd's the program makes a default NTSC menu, i dont seem to have a choice it's always NTSC. Because my films are all PAL i need a PAL menu, my problem is when i try and replace the NTSC menu with a PAL menu i get a message "select NTSC block for replacement" Anybody else getting this problem, how did you fix it ? |

I tried to replace the default NTSC menu with a default PAL menu, and I get this message, "Replace block (PGC) >> different streams (610:PgcProgramsView.cpp)". Just ignore this message. Looks like the format cannot be changed in the Video Track Attributes dialog from NTSC to PAL, which I think it should be unless there's a reason for disabling it. So for now you can change this in IfoEdit easily after export. Another thing you need to fix are the 2 buttons on the PAL merged menu. These 2 button commands says "Jump Title 1 chapter 1" and "Jump Title 1 chapter 2". Change them to "LinkTailPGC". This brings to another suggestion. @Dimad, would it be possible that you change all the button commands in the Select block pool 3 (PAL) and pool 4 (NTSC)? That would be fantastic. |

| Hi thanks for the prompt reply. This is how to get the error on your machine. Merge 2 movies, in the domain block go down to menus and expand it to show the pgc 1 root menu, click this to bring up the default menu. Right click the default menu, then click replace with still, choose to option pool 3 (stock) – this should replace the default NTSC menu with a PAL menu, click ok. Now you get a box with an exclamation mark saying select NTSC menu and there you go, It wont let you replace it. But if you select an NTSC block it works ok. Suggestion……..why not have the option after clicking merge to choose………NTSC or PAL menu, I’m sure all the UK users would appreciate that. cheers[/img] |

| 1450harley, Assuming your problem is caused the same way as mine, I may have found a solution for you. I have posted it under "Weird issue: I can't replace DvdRemake default merging menu" topic in DvdReMake - Feedback. http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2667&start=15 |

| I tried your suggestion ( i think ) , but in the domain list i can find any menus with buttons ? How about re writing your instructions with a few more instructions, perhaps i dont understand every move you are making. But at the end of the day this is just a workaround, why does the program not let you replace ntsc with pal menus. Is it me doing something wrong ? or do other users have this problem, if you are on an ntsc tv system you probably dont need this option anyway, the program is probably good for you, but pal users must be getting the same error as myself. thanks |

I was using the Replace block method which let me replace with the PAL menu, but you have to use IfoEdit to change the format. There's another way of doing this. As Crazy suggested, that also works. I think I know why you get the default NTSC menu. Since both of your VMG on project 1 & 2 does not have a video content, DRM will default to using NTSC menu. Luckily I have such projects ready to test. There's another similar method to trick DRM into using PAL menu by default. Here are the steps: 1. Before merging, on project 1, go to VMG/Menus and create a new dummy PGC ("Add PGC"). 2. Select that VMG PGC, go to Programs pane and "Add program" to create a blank cell. You'll notice you have a NTSC format, but don't worry about it. 3. Right click on Program 1, and select "Replace block". 4. Choose Pool 3 (stock) for PAL merged menu. In your case, the first one is automatically selected. Click OK. You'll get a warning, so just ignore it. You'll notice the format is now PAL (in Video pane). This is to trick DRM that you have PAL content in VMG so it will create a PAL merge menu. 5. Hide this block. 6. Click on Tools and merge your 2 dvds. 7. You will now have a PAL merge menu in the last VTS on the merged dvd (project 3). 8. Go to the VMG PGC that you created and hid. Delete it, you don't need it anymore. btw, I notice that the last VTS domain have an NTSC format even though its menu domain is PAL. I guess it's ok since it's just a blank cell in the VTS domain, but would be nice to change it to PAL to make the whole thing consistent. |

| 1450harley, I didn't get any error messages. Try toaddub's method and see if that works without error messages. |

Is it the same as your 2nd previous post? If you don't do Crazy or my method and export, do you get that error message? Is there any existing video content, even a blank cell, in the VMG of both projects 1 & 2? If you don't have any, I don't see how you can get the error message if you try my method, as the message indicates that it "cant write video_ts vob". This means there's some content in the VMG. |

Confirm fix on the PAL/NTSC start-up menu in 3.1.4, as well as the change to LinkTailPGC commands in the menu pool. Thanks Dimad. |
