Hi All, Am getting the above error when trying to burn a blindwrite image or iso image. I have a Sony DRU-500A drive. Here is the log file - info - finalize started error - write error at 16(16) - Code 05 24 00 [Illegal request, Invalid field in CDB] info - lead-in burning time (MS) 55069 info - write started info - buffer under-run protection is enabled info - media topology will be embedded in autoplay info - backup tagged for autoplay info - writing speed requested x1.0, effective x1.0 info - media id - RITEKG05 info - writing dvd-rom disc - image size 1.6Gb info - Dev Support DVD-R, RW, seq, DVD-RW RO, DVD+R,+RW info - using :1:1:0 - Sony DVD RW DRU-500A 2.1a [E] (IDE) info - BWT5 file contains topology data: Quality 100% info - Using Patin-Couffin driver version 1.28, Internal revision 28 - Async info - Autoplay driver active. version 6 info - ParamStr 0 = C:\program files\vso\blindwrite5\bw.exe info - user default language : 3081 - English(Australian) info - System default language : 1033 - English(USA) info - Version 5.2.16.154 info - OS:Microsoft Windows XP Personal SP2 (Build 2600) I have already gone through 3 blank DVD's with this, but I am able to burn just a plan data DVD no problems, also getting the same error with RecordNow and Alcohol 120% Any help would be of great assistance ? Hi lhardy74 and welcome to our forums According to our list of atapi errors this is one of the trickier errors to pin down giving this meaning for the error message:

These errors are difficult to specify a cause for. Most of the times the problem is in the system.
if you click on the link at the top of this post you will be able to scroll down to where your error message is listed. 5 possible solutions are mentioned and this is always a good way to rule out possible conflicts. Have you tried unistalling alcohol and seeing the error message persists to rule out a possible software conflict? Has this only recently started happening after installing new software, does it happen with all media types? All this info can be very useful.
