|
|
| I dl-ed this program 2 weeks ago, and it worked fine for 2 weeks. Then, yesterday, when I was trying to convert an AVI file to DVD, the DivxToDVD started to eat up more and more RAM. At startup it took 33mb, then as conversion progressed, that total rose by 200-400kb per second. After a few minutes my whole gigabyte of RAM was gone, and it started accessing my page file, which grew to over 1.5 gigs before I stopped it. Also, as the RAM is eaten up, the conversion slows down. I started with a rate of about 33fps, and as RAM dissapears it dropped to around 10 before I stopped it. It was only half way thru a 1 hour home video. I should note that I dl-ed an update from the Evil Empire (Microsoft), and the error started to pop up after I updated, but the update may or may not be related. Also, I updated DivxToDVD to 5.2.99 right before the error, but again, this may or may not be the problem. Thanx |

| Hi kyrcant and welcome to our forums. What M$ update did you dload b4 this issue appeared? Also maybe the new DivXtodvd has a bug - have you tried restarting the system and seeing the problem persists? |

| I have restarted, and it's still broke. I re-installed Windows and when I tried DivXToDVD w/o any updates it still had the same problem, so it must be the DivxToDVD's code. Is there any place I can download an older version of it? Converting my videos to DVD format is one of the main things I use my computer for, and this is the only program that does it that works with the rest of my burning and editing software. |

| Thats one for the developers to answer. Unless one of our forum members still has an old version sitting in their download directories. |

I have the 'original' 0.5.x release install. (Not the latest one on download.com.) If you PM me an e-mail address I can send you that in 8hrs time ('cos I'm at work at the mo') OR I happen to have versions 04067 and 045 here at work if you want them sooner for a quick 'rule out' test. I also have most released versions between those at home - take your pick! |
