| Hi Xiaopang and welcome to our forums Thank you for the input. We have not yet fully found where the issue may be. Although it may well be related to what you suggest, until we rule a few things out first we cannot be sure. Its one of those 'could be one of 10 things' issues which makes bug tracking a little annoying!. I don't think it is soley a media/firmware issue but MR_Fixer has tried to rule it out the equation. We are still waiting on sjw's reply to see if this is a hacked version his friend is using or not. |

You can check that with ifoedit. Although DVDShrink should remove layer breaks automatically, it's a known bug that this most of the time doesn't work, so you'll have to remove it manually with ifoedit. | A good point, but this is not a layer break issue he is dealing with. |

| Hi all, I have sussed the pausing problem. I opened a (pausing) DVD that I exported from 2.6.4 in DVD2One and looked at it in “Movie Only” mode. This gives information about the chapter layers. All the chapters are layer 2! If you process the whole DVD through DVD2One it converts all the chapters to layer 1 and the pausing problem goes away. Xiaopang was right!! Cheers, A |

| Yes that will work, or you could just actualy buy DVDRemake so you won't have those problems either. |

Well, suggestion by drama is more robust. Not all layer breaks should be removed actually! At least not in all cases. Don't be surprised if your menus quit working on some disks! | Aenima wrote: | | Hi all, I have sussed the pausing problem. | Hi Everyone. I would like to ring in on this interesting discussion and throw out a comment and question. I have seen cases where a dvd backup made with 2.6.4 pro will play flawlessly on the newer dvd players (1 year or newer) but will have 1-2 second pauses at chapter changes when played in older dvd players (2 years old or older). Obviously there is a problem on the dvd disc, but it seems like the newer dvd players can compensate for it. Does that explain why some people are experiencing this problem and some others are not? If this is true, then do it make sense to say that there is a group of people that have created faulty dvds with 2.6.4 pro but are not really aware of it. I have an older dvd player (Sony DVP S-360) that pauses. I do not have a copy of DVDRemake Pro myself, however I would purchase my own copy but I hesitate because I don't want to purchase version 2.6.6 and end up with the same problem. Hopefully this puzzle will be solved soon. |

This was already mentioned many times in many threads: registered version has no such problem. | Quote: | | If this is true, then do it make sense to say that there is a group of people that have created faulty dvds with 2.6.4 pro but are not really aware of it. | Yes (but it does not apply to users downloaded it from Dimadsoft.com - their disks are fine). |

This along with a few other Sony models are notorious for this. But, this has nothing to do with the pauses mentioned in this thread, that exist on warez versions of the program. | DvdForFun wrote: | | Hopefully this puzzle will be solved soon. | The puzzle is easy to solve...Download a legitimate copy of DVD Remake from Dimadsoft.com. |
