First download DivXtoDVD again, install it again. If it does not work, then something is messing it up. Try unistalling any installed codec, then reinstall them one by one testing DivXtoDVD after each one. If that fails - windows might be problem. If you can reinstall windows - then format, install windows and updates, then try DivXToDVD - if it does not work then you have bad installpackage. If it works - install some other applications and try DivXToDVD after each one - you should find which one is making problem.

Open task manager and check the running processes.....if there's something in it that points to Kaspersky, terminate that process...

pretty hard way to do that... I will not use DivXToDVD if that is the only way it will work. but I gotta try that with the processes... thanks!

If your problem is unique then only way to solve it is to try different solutions. Starting from working minimal installation. Most users have no problems with DivXtoDVD, those having your problem solved it by shutting antivirus down. It might be a bad codec (like DivX-codec with ads) that is getting AV-programs attention. But with no more information from you, all we can do is to give guidelines on how to solve ANY computer-related problem.

thanks anyway, but I'm not willing to reinstall all my good working codecs nor my windows just beacause ONE program doesn't work with that config. I will now use Avi2DVD. Thank you guys a lot anyways!
