|
|
| I tried to convert Divx files to DVD. But every time it says something like "cant determine the format of input file, exception during conversion output may not be available." or sometimes it says "List index out of bound". Only two of my files worked OK. I checked them. They are Mpeg4. Can anybody help? Thanks. |

There are numerous codecs included in mpeg4 standard. Some more information is needed - which files are not working, what is DivXtoDVD reporting on them? Inlcude log please. |

| Thanks for your reply, JJ. The only working ones are mpeg4. For other ones it says "cant determine the format of input file, exception during conversion, output may not be available." or sometimes it pops up a "List index out of bound". |

| Wow .. I have had one single file that DivXtoDVD could not convert. What format are they exactly? Try opening them with GSpot - it will tell you format and programs needed to open it. Can you open/watch them on your computer? Give here info about those files, format, framerate, standard, codec used etc. |

Ok, some of these formats have been giving problems earlier. MS Mpeg4 at least, and I suspect that WMV is now using MS Mpeg4 too. I have to try ogg-coded films if I find ones. [Edit: I tried one that is ogg-coded Divx5. No luck at all, even GSpot reports that it can't read movie lenght properly etc. Seems that at the moment, avoid OGG.] This seems to be problem at the moment, but there is way too many different codecs to handle. I'm pretty sure this will be fixed later, UNLESS some of those codecs are licence restricted.
