| Hi peeps, I am having an issue with my Wiondows sound scheme. I wanted to throw on some wav files and change the default sounds to some neato movie quotes but for some reason they aren't working......but not only are they not working, either are my sounds for Windows Start-up, Windows Exit, MSN Messenger sounds.....My Yahoo messenger ones work fine... I'm not sure if my profile got screwed up somewhere or what. I tried contacting Dell about it as this pc is an XPS Gen 4 ....but i haven't got any replies on their forums. I tried uninstalling my SoundBlaster Audigy 2 and re-installing it but that didn't work. ' Wondering if maybe a reinstall/repair of Media Center 2005 will correct the problem, or if there's an easier and quicker way of restoring the sounds. Thanks for any advice in advance, Stabby |

| Windows sound scheme is accessible in Control Panel, Sound and Audio Devices -> Sounds tab. Make sure that Sound scheme drop down list is NOT set to No Sounds. Choose Windows Default instead or whatever scheme you have. You can customize which sound to play based on certain events. All the standard Windows wav files in Sounds drop-down list are in C:\Windows\Media directory. If they're not there, then search for it in Windows directory. |
