My friend was taping a concert on a Phillips DVD-VR DVD Recorder to get a live-cut of the show for the singer. I now need to pull tracks from this and insert them in on another DVD. I understand how to split and create blocks, but when I go to load the other DVD it is 5 different VOBs and none of them will load. It just errors out saying that the file is missing some code and replaces them with blank blocks. How do I fix this? This seemed pretty easy doing it with just regular DVDs I had ripped, the only difference on this one is that it is a DVD VR and has some sort of a lame menu. But it won't let me pull my VOBsss!!!!!!!!!!

Help.

What are the files in a DVD-VR, beside VOB files? Any other subfolder containing some other files? Possibly a screenshot of the files and folders would help. What does the error message say exactly?

Hey there! Okay there are two folders. One is a VIDEO_TS folder.
The other is a VIDEO_RM folder. The VIDEO_RM contains
VIDEO_RM
VIDEO_RM.BUP
VIDEO_RM.IFO

The VIDEO_TS folder contains:
VIDEO_TS
VIDEO_TS.BOP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1
VTS_01_2
VTS_01_3
VTS_01_4
VTS_01_5

When I select the VIDEO_TS folder for importing, it all seems fine as it imports the DVD recovering cell information until it hits 100%, and then only blank cells show up and the log says:

Cell #107 uses vobus (vobID=1, cellID=107)not present in vob file. Substituting blank cell instead. (2114:PGC.cpp)
Cell #108 uses vobus (vobID=1, cellID=108)not present in vob file. Substituting blank cell instead. (2114:PGC.cpp)
Cell #109 uses vobus (vobID=1, cellID=109)not present in vob file. Substituting blank cell instead. (2114:PGC.cpp)
Cell #110 uses vobus (vobID=1, cellID=110)not present in vob file. Substituting blank cell instead. (2114:PGC.cpp)
etc... all the way up to #118.

Any clues what is happening?

Thanks for any guidance. I've been messing around trying to figure it out but no luck thus far.

Download the NavPack Extractor. Select the VIDEO_TS folder and run it. Zip the resultant files and upload here or somewhere for speculation. Hopefully, Dimad can take a look to see what's wrong.

For the time being, you can try this. Use FixVTS on the problem VIDEO_TS folder and see if it can be loaded in DVDRMP. In FixVTS, uncheck "In place (no backup!)" so you can have the original to fall back on, assuming you have HD space.

Another alternative is using VobBlanker to process the files and see if it fixes the loading problem in DVDRMP.
