Computer shuts down when converting 700mb AVI file

Hi,

I'd like to convert a 700mb avi file to burn it to a dvd. With this, I want to implement a .srt subtitle at the same time. What happens is that, when the conversion progress is at about 15 - 20 % my laptop shuts down. Suddenly. For no reason. This has never happend before, this does not happen when I try to convert other movies.

Someone has an idea how to fix this?

I use windows vista HP.

Edit: I tried some stuff, I converted a 8min avi file succesfully. However, then I did it agáin with srt subtitles as external subs with ConvertXtoDvd. (it says 0 internal sub 1 external sub) And then my computers shuts off again. So it only happens when i try subtitling.

That log is from succesful conversion.
If your system crashes after some time of conversion, it probably overheats - happens often with laptops.

Overheating? hmmm sounds acceptable.. But what about this, it only happens when I include subtitles at ConvertXtoDvd. How can subtitles cause this problem?

If it happens only with subtitles then those subtitles are bad.
Your log shows nothing about subtitles so can't comment on those.
