| Is there any trick to getting Marks Tray DVD player to work. Everytime I run it crashes, in fact it wont even launch. Running WIn XP SP2 with direct x 9b and tried 9c too. Also the settings I changed in DVD remake is that the default, or does it vary by disc, i have had no issues with BOV at 5 secs and autobypass selected. What is the difference?? |

that's the default probably if you haven't changed them before. This combo wull work most ofthe time but theyre will come a time when you may need to change them trust me on the BOV thing as you never know when you might need it so it's safer just to have it set to 0.5 secs all the time (even though it takes longer to open the DVD). It caught me out just recently but mine was turned off completely but at 0.5 secs you should catch most Buttons Over Video . Maybe 3 secs is OK for all DVD's, I don't know, but at 0.5 I'm sure nothing can get by I syggested to leave the autobbypass off as a test so then you can keep the DVD as original as possible to try to get a working DVD. Once you get it to work you can start elimating probable causes by doing things a step at a time and eventually you will isolate the problem |

| hi, just earlier today i ran into the same problem. after a little googling i found this thread. I backed up kill bill vol. 2 using Xcopy by 123 studios. and it runs fine in my xbox, and with power dvd. however, when i play it in my standlone dvd player (Sony DVP-NS325, a similar model to redsvt) it skips through chapters until the main movie ends. the special features also refuse to play, selecting them only flashes a black screen breifly and returns to the menu. I read on another forum that the problem could be due to poor media quality. i'm using maxell DVD-R's. i've backed up two other dvd's on this media and have had no problems under the same conditions. |

| For anyone who can play Dvd files in power dvd but not on a standalone it may be worth opening up IFOEDIT. opening the dvd and checking 'get vts sectors' just to double check command and ifos are complete. It may be we have found a DVD worthy of a challenge but its always good to do this one check to ensure the VTS sectors are updated correctly |

| Hi SirQUK, I opened IFOEDIT , then opened G:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO, and clicked get vts sectors, it processes all IFO files without errors. I'm not sure what i'm supposed to be doing with this information because i'm new to this whole dvd backup scene. |

send off the original DVD to me SirQUK when you get stuck cos I ain't buying it it's a Sony thing by the sounds of things as Sony's are well known to be fussy when playing DVDR's. That's why I got rid of my DAVS as well as it not having a simple multi region hack |

Must be a player specific bug |
