Got DVDremake PRO about 10 days ago and had great success with it. I am having problem with kill bill volume 2. I cannot for the life of me create a disc that will play on my standalone. Any version I create of KBVOL2 wheter it be an .ISO file or Video_TS will not. It skips chapters. I have recreated it about 8 times tried it on multiple discs but it wont play. It will play however the .ISO or Video TS created with DVDremake when mounted on my PC. The same files will no tplay on my standalone player. Any ideas, I have remade about 12 discs so far and they all play fine. Kill Bill 2 is certainly killing me.

Hi and welcome to the DRM forums for the fisrt time Smile please don't doublepost and if you posted in the wrong forum just say in your double post and all is cool Wink. If it plays on your PC then I doubt it's a DRM issue but I may be wrong as it isn't perfect and it may be an IFO issue Smile so a few questions what player are you using to play the files on you PC? what are you burning the files with and how (ISO etc)? are you shrinking the files after DRM? do you have a DVD-RW? is it skipping by playing so much of the chapter or is it completely randomly skipping chapters?

Sorry my bad double post. I am using power dvd to play files on my pc. I am burning ISO files with copytodvd or dvd decrypter I am alos creating video TS files and using copy to dvd to burn those. Yes I am shrinking the files after DRM. I am using shrink 3.2 or DVDRB .56 with CCE 2.69 It play the menus fine, as soon as I start the movie it plays about 1 second and skips, to the next chapter, one second, then to the next. I am using DVDRW and I have tried several thinking it might be the disc but it still does it. When I enocode the FULL disc it plays just fine. I have re ripped the original disc several times. The disc I burn that skips on the standalone, that same disc plays just fine through power dvd. thanks

as you have a DVD-RW, try this then so we can see if the problem lies before or after shrinking as you say it works when you do the full disc open the DVD in DRM and keep everything (menu/extras) and the first five or so chapters in the main movie and anything from the chapter before the credits so keep the last chapter that includes the actual movie So remove all chapters from 6 onwards in only the movie PGC and from the last chapter than contains the movie onwards (it should be at least 2 cells) making sure when exported it will be less than 4.37Gb so you can burn it. Basically remove all the cells from within the movie but leave the start (5 chapters or so) and end bits Smile the smaller it is, the better it is as it will be quicker to process and burn but make sure it includes the chapters were it starts jumping and all menus/extras you can then see if it's DRM creating the issue by burning the DVD-RW and playing it. If it's DRM then the 5 chapters should still be jumping on the DVD-RW in your standalone if you can, try to get hold of Mark's Tray DVD player as that may have picked up the playback issue as it plays a DVD more like a standalone than PowerDVD does in most cases p.s. you are using the latest version which is 2.3.4.?

OK here are the test results. The first five chapters play just fine, no skipping. When it reaches the last two, including the end credits it skips. It also will not play the special features, which were ALL included. The FBI and copyright warnings just zipped by, I mean you hardly have a chance to see what they are, thats is also weird. I am going to try another movie, carve it up and see if I have the same issues. Be back in an hour:)

hmmmmm, I wasn't expecting that! it's obviously DVD related but the question is where and when and why on earth are the extras and warnings affected? Very Happy how are you playing the files, are you creating an ISO or are you just playing them direct as normal files via the VIDEO_TS.IFO with something like PowerDVD? did you get hold of Mark's Tray player from CDR-Zone? do you have autobypass selected and what is your BOV setting in the options?. It should be set to 0.5 seconds as this will catch most BOV's and make sure Autobypass isn't selected Smile

To play back on the PC I am using two methods. First one to mount and ISO via 120% alcohol the other search for the Video TS folder, then play. Both ways play the stripped version just fine. I cannot find Marks Player on CDR-Zone. Auto by pass is selected, the shortest BOV duration is 3 seconds.

OK, change the autobypass as you do not want it and also change the BOV to 0.5 seconds and try it again (sorry:() I'll try to find the link for Marks player as I don't have any webspace at the minute Sad. With the player you can compare the register values at the menu stage and see if they are the same as the original Smile

Do you happen to have a standalone Sony DVD player. They seem to be picky sometimes. Had a couple of discs which had a similar problem (scene rips, so nothing to do with DRM), which would play fine on other players. (Animatrix was one of them) You might wanna try a "get vts sectors" in IfoEdit, just to see if it alters location information. If it doesn't tell you, then it didn't change anything.
