I have a home-made DVD that someone put together, and it has a strange problem. When I play the main movie, it plays as if it were a menu, not a video title. If I play it on my stand-alone player, instead of showing the timecode, it just says "Menu". Playing it in Windows Media Player, the "progress bar" along the bottom never advances, and I can't fast forward or rewind. More telling, when I play it with Zoom Player (my media player of choice), instead of showing the progress of the video, it just says "Menu". However, this video title shows up in DVDReMakePro as PGC 1 under "Program Chains", and is not under "Menus en".

I've tried using the "Enable all operations" function, but that didn't fix it. Is there some flag that tells the player that the title is a menu that I am missing? If so, how do I fix it?

Welcome to the forum, ahecht.

Maybe you can ask that person how it is put together and reauthor again. You can have menus in the video title, aka Buttons Over Video. Are there buttons in the main movie?

I don't know the person who authored it. It is a DVD of a school play put together by the videographer.

I don't see any buttons in the video (at least the buttons icons isn't there), but even so, I didn't think that buttons over video would prevent seeking (For example, my Back to the Future video uses buttons over video for some special features, but you can still seek.

For now, I ripped just the main title using CloneDVD, and the new DVD without any Menus seems to work, but I was wondering if there is an easier way.

Check that there is no PUOs in the VOB. The option is available in the Preview window. Is there only one PGC under Program Chains? Would exporting from DRMPro not help? The time map table would be generated allowing for fast forward/rewind.

btw, what version of DRMPro are you using?

There are no PUOs, and I've tried using the "enable all operations" command. There are 4 PGCs under program chains, although only PGC 1 has a green arrow next to it (which I assume means that only PGC 1 has an entry point defined). When I export the disc as a test DVD, it still plays as a menu. I am using DVDReMake Pro 3.5.3.

EDIT: After typing this in, I decided to go in and define an entry point for each title. It looks like all four PGCs were listed under Title 1 under Titles, so I went and split them between four separate titles, each with it's own entry point. When I created the test DVD, I now can seek! I don't think not having the entry point was the problem, but in reworking the Titles, I think I coaxed DVDReMake into recreating whatever was corrupted.
