|
| i am attempting to make/burn my first dvd. i used dvdshrink and then DVDRemake to remove extra material/menu buttons... I know that the next step is to export the new project to a new folder. I have done this but i don't know where to go from there. The new folder has all sorts of files in it and i want to burn to a dvd so i can watch on my dvd home player. What is the next step? Also another question i had was: What should i do if DVDRemake says that the file is 4.9 gb? its still to big for a dvd-r (4.7 gb). how can i make it fit into a dvd-r? thanks for your help |

| I'm gonna guess you used dvddecrypter to rip the dvd. Open the exported files in [/b]DVDshrink[/b] to remove any unneeded audio and if it's still to large use dvdshrinks compression. After that click backup, choose to backup to an image then burn the image with dvddecrypter. |

Hi and welcome to the forums here is a hint for you , when you use DVDShrink strip any unwanted audio/subs but use the No Compression setting. This will mean if you strip the video out with DRM then it may just fit onto a blank DVD-R without having to process all the files again Also check you setting for the logical remapping of removed audio/subs (I'd leave it off unless you wantto change all the buttons & commands in DRM which can be an exhausting process) as it sometimes messes up the audio on the DVD do you have any burning software such as Nero etc already? If not then the free but longer alternative would be to use DVDShrink (reducing if necessary) to create an ISO and then burn with DVDDecrypter as copytodvd is a nice alternative but it ain't free |

| if your DVD is larger than 4.37Gb even after DRM then I suggest the following to try load the exported files into DVDShrink by using the Open files option and browsing to the DRM export folder Shrink the menu and extras a little trying not to reduce the main feature if you can set the backup target to an ISO. I always was happy with 70% for menu's/extras and max out for the movie burn the ISO DVDShrink creates with DVDDecrypter (or with your software if it burns ISO images) |
