mackemX, no all i did was import the ripped dvd .iso by opening the video_ts folder with DVDremake, and then do a test export. so the IFOs from DVDremake you got were from a test export and not the complete export, but still remained unedited other than being from a test export....sorry i should have thought about that before. the other IFOs came directly from the ripped .iso file. does this explain your findings or does it still mean DVDremake is doing something it shouldn't?

lol alright i might have just earned the biggest dumbass of the year award here..... the cut motion menus option already was selected. and it was set to cut scenes at 5 seconds would that have anything to do with the trouble i have been having. regardless should i keep having the motion menus being cut at 5 seconds or don't cut them at all? let me know so i can send you over the IFOs from the full export as soon as possible

You also need to save the playback log for both DVD's from Marks' Tray player to be compared. Press F12 to get the values to show and then Click where it says click here to save Smile in the DVD Navigation part at the bottom
Don't take to much credit to this log, as it's a 1 second snapshot. So it might be that when you're hiding a lot of stuff, playback etc. is faster then the log, and you might miss complete steps. Still very usefull, but just not failsafe.

hi mirx, it would be extremely helpful to hear what you have to say since you actually have the movie and have done this already with Hellboy
Well, I got the replica (release group) version. Which means they did most of the work on the disc. So I haven't actually stripped anything out. But I did work on restore menu navigational structure (due to a screw-up when they custom-subbed it), so I already know that my version can be exported without problems. I'll try and rip out what they left, and give you an overview of what I ripped. The best thing I can think of, is what MackemX suggested, is doing it 1 step at a time, with the suggestion, that you follow the first play sequence in doing this. Take a look at this guide to see an example of First Play navigation. As I follow navigation, I go through (but it might be different since someone already played with the disc): VMG First Play VTS 1 Program Chain PGC 1 --> Playback of the columbia tristar logo VTS 1 Menus PGC 1 VMG PGC 1 VTS 6 Program Chain PGC 1 --> Trailer playback VTS 6 Menus PGC 1 VMG PGC 1 VTS 8 Program Chain PGC 1 From here I'm not 100% sure as I get a Break command, and I don't know what this does. I suspect it's a command to go directly to the post commands. And if so, this might be where the problem lies. I don't know if DVDRemake deletes the post-commands, when hiding a cell (but I'll find out). But continuing: From VTS 8 Program Chain PGC 1 VTS 8 Menus PGC 1 VTS 8 Menus PGC 5 --> Main menu playback So first, please see if navigation is the same for your disc, and try hiding: - cell 1 and 2 in VTS 1 Program Chain PGC 1 (Columbia Tristar logo) - cell 1 and 2 in VTS 6 Program Chain PGC 1 (Trailers) And then check if you still get to the main menu. I'll try this on my version, and let you know.

Oke, the hiding works perfect for me on a test export. I've got options set to: cut scenes at 5 secs cut motion menus at 5 secs bypass hidden parts shortest bov 3 secs domain preview 10 secs Playback starts directly at the main menu. Post-commands stay intact, so forget my earlier remark. The only thing I find strange is the cell commands made when hiding. For the Columbia tristar logo, the post-command is also administered to the cell command (blank before) For the trailer, a cell-command is added to LinktailPGC (blank before) Why this difference???? Although it will do the same. One side-note though, this disc uses seam-less branching for the story-board track, and DVDRemake has had problems with these types of discs before. So please first try these first steps, as my dvd doesn't contain much more I can test out stripping wise.
