I'm just starting to try out DVDRemake to see what I can do with it. I was hoping that I'd be able to remove the opening credits sequence for TV shows. Unlike movies where you can remove the whole beginning, with TV shows you have an episode intro for a few minutes and then the opening credits. Unfortunately the opening credits fall within a cell so it doesn't seem that I can remove them. The next best thing would be to add a chapter stop right at the end of the opening credits so I could skip them easily. Is that easily doable with DVDRemake?

Why not try a "cut to here" and "cut from here" on the cell Question

As I have understood you can't cut something in the middle of the cell. Only the beginning and/or the end.

Might have been a bit short in my answer. What I meant was: - Use "add cell" on the PGC - Use "replace block" from bottom to top, to shift all the cell from where you want to insert youre new cell down. - Make a duplicate of the cell after the original using "replace block - On the original cell, use "cut from here" to strip from where the credits start. - On the duplicate use "cut to here" from where the credits end. - Change all the commands in the chapter menu to +1 from the cell you insterted, otherwise you chapters won't work. Might be a nice feature, to either cut in the middle, or insert a cell where you want, in staid of just the end. Now, it will take some time to do.

You might be able to do this quicker, but I don't know if this will work. Do an add cell, and then on the original cell add an cell command that links it to the added cell. In the added cell add a cell command that links it to the cell after the original cell. Then use the replace block, and cut to here. The you also have to alter the orginal final cell command not to play the added cell If this works there's no need for changing the chapter menu commands.

I suppose this would be handy for DVD's like Friends etc that have the intro in every episode. In fact they are just one PGC and one cell per episode! I've just had a little brainstorming session (I'm bored Smile) to make this process rather fast and easy. I think I've managed it as it's very straight forward and involves only one other 'free' tool as before I was using tools like DVDShrink/VOBEdit and doing all sorts of modifications here's something for people to try 1. open the DVD and then open a new project also 2. in the new project add a VTS so you have 2 and create a PGC in each VTS and add a cell to each one 3. replace the cell in the 1st VTS with the one you want to edit from the original by using the replace cell option 4. use the 'cut from here' to snip the end of the cell off to create the 1st part of the cell you want to keep 5. replace the cell in the 2nd VTS like you did in step 3 with the original one 6. use the 'cut from here' to leave just the 2nd part of the cell you want to keep 7. export the project 8. Get hold of FILEMERGER (Click HERE for download link) 9. Drag n drop VTS_01_1.VOB and VTS_02_1.VOB into the Filemerger window 10. Set the path and name for the merged file at the bottom 11. Click Merge 12. Now goto the original DVD and replace the 1st cell with your newly merged VOB from Filemerger it looks complicated by the long list of instruction but it's rather simple and I've just made it look hard by doing a 'for dummies' type of guide so everyone can follow it (I might do a Flash also) shortcuts and modifications welcomed if anyone can make this quicker Smile

Hmm, didn't want to go into re-authoring, but you seem to have found a way to keep that part within DVDRemake. Seems like a good solution A way to make it quicker is just to add 2 PGC's (1 cut to and 1 cut from) and export the 2 VOB's at the same time. This way you only have to do that once, and the vob's get different names, so overwriting by accident isn't an issue.

lol Very Happy, I just remembered that I had tried with 2 PGC's before after trying it with 2 Cells. The problem is that the VOB ID was different and at first I was using Menuedit to change the VOB ID of the second cell. DRM was still seeing them as individual cells and doing it twice was the first solution I came across that worked Smile so by adding another VTS with a PGC & Cell creates 2 VTS but both will have VOB/CELL ID of 1 that can be joined. I presume this is what you meant by adding 2 PGC's anyway? I've also edited the instructions for people
