| Hi, Menuedit seems to make simple changes to button navigation to the original file -- without having to export the entire VIDEO_TS folder. But in DvdRemake, a simple button navigation change (like using the arrow keys on the remote control) forces the entire folder to be exported (takes alot of time with long videos). Am I missing something in DvdRM that will just apply the navigation changes to the original file? Thanks, George p.s. I noticed that when I change the navigation using MenuEdit, the date/time stamp of the original file isn't updated (is this by design)? |

| you are correct but once you have exported the DVD and apply any changes after that then only the affected files are updated. Small price to pay for a lot more options as users will probably do more than just change a button when using Menuedit the creation date may not change but the modified date may change but I don't think it does. What do you have displayed in Explorer? do you have both programs? |

Hi, and thanks for your reply The MenuEdit Trial download works great for a "quickhit" to modify the navigation of buttons using the remote control arrow keys. I made a quick change this morning, then went to look for the folder that I made the change to (I have alot of DVD Folders on my HD), but couldn't find it based on the change date/time stamp -- so I did it again, but made note of the folder the second time. When I went to load it, I noticed that the Date/time modified isn't being updated (not a big deal to me -- was just wondering if that was by design). You are correct that DvdRM has many many more options -- I just wished that it could do the same type of "quickhit" update if only modifying button navigation like MenuEdit does... Regards, George |

I suppose if that's all you want then Menuedit is the one for you you could do it quicker with DRM if you wanted You need to rip the movie to your HD at some stage so instead of ripping with DVDDecrypter, open the original DVD with DRM but also have something like DVD43(free) or AnyDVD(not free) running in the background export the complete DVD without modifications but what's even better is that you blank some of the stuff you know you definitely don't need if you have the time once its ripped any modifications will only update the files affected so processing will be a lot quicker |
