| I wanted to check if it was possible to change an animated menu into a still menu easily. I thought, I just scroll to the part where the buttons appear (unfortunately the same cell), and do a "cut to here" and "cut from here" to only have a few frames remaining (as DVD Remake can't cut frame by frame) and then see if this can be made into a normal loop or an still by alteringing cell properties, rather then making my own still menu cell, and replacing it. But as soon as the cell contains buttons, and I get to the second frame set, the button "Cut to here" grays out. I can do a "Cut from here" (at least in the software, haven't exported), but the button for "Cut to here" simply isn't accessable. So to recapture, if I go into a motion menu cell which contains buttons, as soon as I slide the preview bar to the right, and DVDRemake show a different size then 0.00 MB (second set of frames), the option "Cut to here" dissapears. |

It is not a bug. It is a feature Seriously. DvdReMake (Pro) is trying to give us much power over the disk without unintensionaly breaking it. In this particular case, there is some info (subpictures namely) in at the start of a menu cell which is used later in the cell. That is why it is ok to cut the tail but not the head of the cell. |

nice one Dimad as I could see potential issues but as long as the video content that Mirx can cut from is what he wants then adding the buttons should work shouldn't it? Or would the button timing info in the VOB affect it? funnily enough I've been playing with subpictures over the last few days as I want to find a method to insert them in It would be nice for DRM to allow the extraction and insertion of subpictures somehow as this would allow for some great menu editing features . You would however need to be able to edit the subpic also to have the full effect . Subrip extracts them to bmp's and with a little fiddling you can use DVDAuthor to insert them back but it's just not worth the time & effort even inserting a blank subpic would be good so if you add new buttons to a menu they will have a highlight I was thinking of asking about to see if any programmers could make a simple tool that allows this as there is nothing that does. You could then import the modified cell instead once you edited the subpicture |
