(resolved ??) DVDRemake 2.3.4 & subtitles problem(?)

Hi there! I am a frequent user of the great DVDRemake. However I've noticed something strange (at least I think so). When I manipulate my DVDs with DVDRemake and burn them to play them in my stand alone DVD player, the option to select subtitles via the remote seems often to disappear. Instead I manually have to select subtitle using the discs navigation menus. Has anyone else discovered this perhaps? By the way, I use DVDShrink quite often aswell and have not discovered these kind of "problems" with it...

Load them into WinDVD (or some other player), and then open up the subtitle selection (not the menu). Most players will give you a list of what's available. If it shows up here, it should be selectable (I guess). Have you tried changing the batteries on your remote

The only thing I've done is to hide "blocks" that I didn't want on my DVD (commercials, trailers and stuff like that), this also includes hiding buttons.

Are they selectable when you play disk with software dvd player? Could you please do a simple test with the disk where you experience the problem: just import and export it without editing. Any warnings/errors in the log file (dvdremake.log in the same directory where dvdremake.exe is)? Does it play ok? Does "test export"-ed disk plays ok? It is quite possible that disk itself "prohibits" player to switch subtitles not from menu - so called "prohibited user operations". Try right clicking on DVD (root item in the DvdTree pane) in the DvdReMake and "Enable all operations". Does this help?
