About the restriction problem of chapter quantity in DVD

I purchased a DVD Creator software recently, it’s all right until tomorrow I found a problem. That is, too much chapter quantity caused the content of disc after finish burning blank. Then I tried to output DVD Folder, but found that the folder is abnormal (short of files). When I import the same video, but increase the time length of chapter to decrease the quantity, all things goes well. I don’t know whether there’re some restrictions to the chapter quantity in DVD specification. It’s not a big problem, but I just want to know the real reason. Thanks.

The spec allows up to 999 chapters per title, but only 99 chapters per Program Chain (PGC). To have more than 99 chapters, a title must span across multi-Program Chain.

You probably fall on the 99 limit because the content is on a single PGC.

I also encountered similar problem, but u’d better tell me which software u’re using, I may have a try and find out the real reason.

O, sorry, I forgot to tell u I’m using Imtoo DVD Creator. Actually, if not to set chapter time length too short, this program is very good to use. I wonder whether there’s certain limit of allowed chapters for different software.

i think that most likely it depends on the software, each one of them have limits, max n of videos, of menus and i guess also a max number of allowed chapters. you could probably try and contact Imtoo support team for further technical info.
