Hi people i have a set of 4 audio cd's recorded & bought from a club. Dont know what brand cdr they are cos they have been laser printed. Basically they all work perfect in like any cd player and 3 of them play in most PC's but the 4th one, although it works fine in a cd player, will not play in ANY pc no matter what type of drive it is. I want to rip it to MP3 for my MP3 player and at the moment i'm looking at connecting my cd seperate to the pc and then recording and tracking it. Any ideas why it wont read at all?
Many Thanks
James
p.s. the systems dont stop trying to read the disk they just keep trying and trying until i eject it. |

There can be several reasons for this behaviour......bad quality/unsupported media,a bad burn,or even a home-made protected disc,like,for example,with FreeLock.
I most cases,it comes all down to the same thing:the drive can't read the atip, which makes the drive spinning for a long while, and even can lock it up.
Works in SOME cases:try to read it in another computer with different hardware and different OS,or use a cd/dvd recovery program like, for example, Isobuster to extract the info you want and burn again.
Some readers which can handle most audioprotections:
UltraPlex tssi SCSI cdrom
Plextor Premium cdburner
Philips Pbrw4816g cdburner
LiteOn LTD163 dvdrom |
