I just upgraded to 2.3.7.5 and now when I go to 'Target Device:' the only thing listed is the Hard Disk - even on a project that has previously been burned. I have 2 DVDR drives and neither one shows up... I don't understand what I am doing wrong. Thanks for any ideas. (XPpro - 3gig P4 - 1 meg. ram)

Hi there,

If no drives comes up, maybe 'Patin Couffin" driver didn't install properly.

Please provide us this log:

C:\My Documents\PcSetup\PcSetup.log

If you want to force a Patin Couffin driver installation, install VSO Inspector v1.2.7 (I know this one is bundled with the very latest v1.37b)

Then provide us again, the PcSetup.log file.

If this still doesn't work, we will have to look deeper and force an uninstall and reinstall manualy !

Thankyou - so much for your reply. I realized that the last install was done as an upgrade... and I didn't have time to turn off the anti-spyware and anti-virus software. I uninstalled the software and simply re-installed it and now the 2 DVDR drives show up fine. I still have a question regarding DVD format... should I be able to make a DVD-R as well as a DVD+R? Thankyou again.

Hi there,

Before buying DVD-R or DVD+R media, you should always make sure:

#1- Your burner can burn DVD-R and/or DVD+R

#2- Your DVD Player can play DVD-R and/or DVD+R

Buy quality media like:

Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Maxell made in Japan

The rest are mostly 2nd, and 3rd class media, and are good for target shooting with a 12 gage shotgun Laughing
