Right, a little leprechaun told me how this goes and he made me a list:
1. Make sure the DMA transfer mode for the CD-ROM is on.
2. Make sure you use a good grade of DVD/CD Media.
Once these two things are tested and the result is still negative try this:
3. Disable Alcohol and its virtual drive.
4. Remove the filters.
This should help you get a working burner in no time.
Kind regards,

Hi Lifelines and welcome to our forums

First I would remove your serial keys from the post to stop other ppl using your serial.

Now I can a few potential issues here in your log.
DMA is off, Media is of a low standard and multiple burning filters are installed. All combined could cause big issues on any system.

To reenable DMA follow this excellent guide:

http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2763

Please try a quality CDR to rule out media issues as I see sense key medium errors in you log. Verbatim, Sony and Taiyo Yuden are quality CDR.

If this stil does not work please let us know and we wil assist more.

UPDATE:

Andy contacted me via MSN and it seems that it is a media / burner issue. His philips drive loves the benq CDR tested but seems to have issue with the Aone CDR using a plasmon dye. Updating the firmware of the writer to version PA47 and re enabling DMA seems to have restored his confidence in the benq cdr but I didnt recomend using AOne unless he wanted to pull his hair out anymore and suggested some nice Verb CDR using the Taiyo Yuden dye. Here's hoping Andy has many more happy hrs recording his favourite audio compilations Smile

On a side note: Alcohol and PXHelp are not interfering on Andys PC - there;s a first for PXHelp.sys Razz

A newer firmware for the PHILIPS DVD+-RW SDVD8441 drive used on Andy's Laptop can be found here ( firmware PA49 )

Seems pxhelp is a newer or different version then the one we've seen having problems with writers.
