| I have had this problem before, after a reformat, and don't know how it got corrected.Once again the problem has showed up.I loose my sound. It works fine for approx 10 minutes or so,then the volume slowly gets lower and lower until the only sound is a clipping/popping noise.I can actually see the volume slider (brought up from task bar)get lower as the volume goes down.I have the latest drivers available, which I have uninstalled/re-installed multiple times.I have removed all Creative software and re-installed it.Removed the card itself and started from scratch.I checked all properties and settings many times and they all say there are NO CONFLICTS and everything is working properly. When the sound disappears like this,I can just move the volume slider back up and I have sound again. But this can be a pain when in the middle of an online game etc. This is driving me nuts. Please help. |

| Hi mongomcfly Welcome to our foums. I haven't used a SB for a while now but I do have some issues I remember with a mic volume being adjusted automatically. That said Win98 is an old system and maybe it just has issues with this card/drivers after x amount of time. I know they seem to work better with XP in my experience. |
