after i rip the dvd with dvddecryptor and edit the files with dvdremake, i'd like to test them on PC player before i decide to burn to disc. the reason i want to do this is because i've wasted a few blanks because i mucked up the menus a few times. i am aware that i can turn the output files into an iso, then use some tool to mount the iso and use windows media player to play it as if it were a dvd in the dvd rom drive. the problem with that is a) it takes way to long to iso up the files, b) it takes up too much room on my hard drive. thanks for the help.

You could use the "export test disc" it is usally only around 200 Mb and then play it with PowerDVD. No need to make ISO files.

if you want to test the DVD using the basic version, leave the menu's intact but hide most of the main title as that will increase processing time and you can also do this with the extras. Keep the first and last cells of a PGC and then it will act as if you were playing the DVD as normal in boring terms Smile: process the DVD as you want and save it to save messing it up. Cut out all the middle blocks from the large PGC's and export the DVD. If it doesn't work, try to find out why (the easy part)Smile and then apply that fix to your saved project but save it as a new project as you may mess it up again. If it does work when hiding blocks, reload the project and export the whole DVD you can of course use a variation of the above but hopefully you get the idea Smile I suggest people don't use PowerDVD as a test player as it plays DVD's that will not play on standalones Sad the best player I have come across is Mark's Tray DVD player as it normally barfs if it finds something wrong. It may just tell you the error and keep on playing whereas PowerDVD would just keep on playing saying nothing. It's better marketing for Cyberlink as can you imagine if it barfed on the slightest error, people would crucify it Smile. I'm sure Mark's DVD tray player is now also used to test DVD playback (mostly DVD LAB) as there is a 'commercial' PRO version available my DVD Tray player doesn't work at all for some unknown reason but then again I do mess about with my system far too much when testing Sad

The easiest way to find the latest version is to go to the following URL and look for DVDTrayPlayerPro(version).zip: http://videoproductions.com.au/dvd-lab/ -- Tim
