I am a beginner and having a hard time synchronizing the music and video. After I have compiled a show, when I load the file into PhotoDVD and look at "PREVIEW" to see if music an video is synchronized, things look good. Then, when I look at the burned files VIDEO_TS, "VTS_01.vob on my Nero Showtime player, it's not in sync. In other words, the PREVIEW doesn't seem to precisely reflect what you would see on the burned files. Does anyone know why. Please help.

Hello, for the moment the engine that encodes the DVD is no the same engine that the preview is based on. The difference should be very very minor. The preview engine may become the encoding engine in the future. I hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply. Can you tell me how to best deal with this problem. Actually the problem is not minor; the difference between the two was more than 30 seconds.

Ok, just had a little talk with the programmer of PhotoDVD to see if this time difference could be made smaller by any adjustments. He said 'wow 30 secs! that is way to big a difference and has to be a bug'. So the questions are: Are you compiling in NTSC? and does the sound and video become increasing desynchronised as you watch the slideshow or is it from start to finish 30 sec off? (if yes NTSC, and yes progressively getting out of sync, this is a bug that has been reported and shortly fixed) thanks in advance for confirming what your situation is. and thanks for having posted already |

I have having the same problem as the OP. I have PhotoDVD 2.3.4.0. I have created a 28 minute DVD slideshow which uses 8 songs. I have split my pictures up with a Heading page that I created. This is just another .jpg file that I inserted into the photos. I have a new song the begins with each new heading file. I have it synced up perfectly in the preview, but when I save a full copy to my hard drive, the music is off. It looks like the first song is off by 7 seconds. So the song lasts 7 seconds after the second Heading file is shown. Then the songs get progressively more out of sync as each song is played. I'm going to assume that each song is 7 or so off. By the end of the slide show, my music is just under a minute off. It is quite noticeable in the slide show. I created the file on my hard drive using the following settings: Output format: NTSC (30 FPS) 16:9 Target Device: Hard Disk Folder DVD5 Target Folder: My desktop I see in the previous post that it was reported as a bug and will be shortly fixed. I wasn't sure which version the fix was going to be in, so I wanted to let you know what I was experiencing in the version that I have. Please let me know if there is a workaround for this besides compiling the slideshow, viewing it, fixing it, then compiling again for a new test. It takes over 45 minutes for me to compile this file to the .vob files. That is going to take a long time for me to fix the sync issues. Thanks!
