For SirQUK: Hates ta do this to ya, but . . . I think they have been keeping ya in da cdr-zone basement TOO LONG now! (ya's getting a bits "tired" maybe) Your article is named "TDK choose HD-DVD" & you say "TDKs decision to seemingly choose HD-DVD over the competeing Blu-ray format." BUT: the quote from the orig source you insert begins:
Quote:
"TDK, a popular choice for blank media like CD-RWs and DVD-R discs, has chosen Blu-ray over the rival HD-DVD format.
Uhhhh, I thin' ya gots something backwards somewhere dere! = = = = = = = = = & the article in the link in your mention: http://www.computeractive.co.uk/personal-computer-world/news/2149742/disk-vendor-snubs-hd-dvd-blu specifically states in the first paragraph:
Quote:
TDK, one of the leading vendors of DVD discs, is not going to sell media for next-generation high definition HD-DVD drives and will concentrate instead on rival Blu-ray.
(my emphasis) BTW: that & other articles such as the one at: http://www.computeractive.co.uk/vnunet/news/2126827/tdk-claims-scratch-resistant-blu-ray-discs show claims by TDK for already having both scratch resistant & Dual layer Blu-ray discs! So I can't see TDK dropping blu-ray & switching to HD-DVD at this time !!! Sorry 'bout dat, but gots ta keeps ya in line here. Don't want da Zone ta gets a rep for bad/incorrect info in it's news links. ;-{
