Sony DVD RW DW-D56A Burn Problems.

Hi Guys, I'm new to this so don't shout if i've posted in the wrong forum! Basically i have a Sony Vaio VGN-A217s, its equiped with Sony DVD RW DW-D56A which is a dual layer burner. Currently using Nero 7 to burn dvd. The problem i keep geting is everytime i try to burn a DVD - R i recive an error saying unable to create disc structure. I have no problems burning any other discs, DVD + R, DVD + RW, DVD - RW, CD-R, CD-RW. Which is verry annoying as i have over 100 blank DVD-R. I'm using data cell DVDS. I have tried mitsibushi DVDS and Maxell, and still get the same problem. I have included a log from nero, so any help would be greatly appreicated! Hi and welcome to our foums You have poste din the right place Your firmware is quite old and I suggest an update to PSD3 ( attatched in this post ) You will need a tool from cdfreaks ( you wil have to register to download but its worth it! ). Once signed up goto: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=83294 to download the flash tool. Please make sure DMA is enabled after updating your firmware by following this guide. http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2763 let me know if you still have issues but I happen to know DVD-R is better supported in this newer firmware. On a side note: AML is very poor media - stick to your mitsibushi and Maxell.

Mitsubishi DVD+R Rated speed is 1x - 4x But i have used these discs in the past, both AML (data cell) and Mitsubishi and had no problems on either plus or minus!
