Are you ripping the DVD or burning? DVD Decrypter defaults at MAX for reading disks and the same for burning. If your drive will not read/write any faster than 4x, then you need to check your DMA settings. Also decrypter makes a 1:1 copy of the orginal, so there is no way your copy can be worst unless you have other issues with your system.

I really don't know that much about 1click. From what I understand it is a ripper, shrinker and burner all in one. DVD Decrypter is only a ripper (1:1), but can burn a ISO. If you burned a 7+ gig ISO to a DVD5 with decrypter then yes your playback quality would look like crap because you burned the entire DVD contents of the original. I am sure 1click is not burning all of the DVD content to a DVD5. There must be presets or settings you have set for the program to remove extras, etc. I use DVDRemake Pro for editing and I normally do not keep all extras from the orginal DVD. If the movie is large and will take heavy compression to fit a DVD5, then I will use DVD-Rebuilder to shrink my files that were edited with DVDRemake Pro to fit a DVD5. As far as DL, yes that's the ticket if you are wanting to keep everything from the original DVD, but again a expensive way to go wright now. Maybe if SirQUK reads this post he can comment on the DL media and maybe on 1click if he uses it.

compressing 7.1gb down to DVD 5 wil always result in loss of quality if you are doing a full dvd backup. I know 1click DVD copy allows movie only backup and removal of unwanted audio. It could be worth trying the movie only with 1 audio option. Another option is more expensive. You could upgrade to 1click dvd copy pro which is doing well in a review being readied for release soon.
